MPM makes a difference in next generation waste containers

Requirements

Waste containers are subjected to tough conditions. Metal meets metal as machines and vehicles make contact, leading to strong vibrations and structure-borne noise. The characteristic metallic bang when a container is emptied or moved has long been a challenge – especially in urban environments, where noise levels are already high.

When a company in the logistics sector wanted to reduce the noise from its waste containers and create quiet containers, they turned to Antiphon.

Antiphon’s solution

By replacing traditional steel plate with Antiphon’s MPM laminate (Metal-Polymer-Metal), the client has been able to produce a new generation of “quiet” containers that reduce the normal noise around the container to a minimum.

Thanks to its unique multi-layered structure, with a vibration-damping polymer core, the MPM laminate reduces noise from contact and impacts. The result is a significant reduction in noise without compromising on durability or strength.
