antiphon® LA™

Absorbents reduce airborne noise

Antiphon's airborne sound absorbers reduce airborne noise, helping to create quieter and more comfortable environments. The material boasts excellent acoustic properties across a wide frequency range and is used both as a visible surface layer and as a concealed absorption layer behind panels and cladding.
ANTIPHON® LA LV™ and ANTIPHON LA™

Construction and Function

antiphon® LA LV™ consists of a porous, fibre-based nonwoven material made from PET and PP fibres (polyester and polypropylene). The material's open structure allows sound waves to penetrate the fibrous mass, where the sound energy is converted into heat through friction and air resistance between the fibres.

antiphon® LA™ can also be laminated with protective film, textile surface or metallised foil depending on the environment and requirements for appearance, moisture or heat resistance. The absorbers can be manufactured in various thicknesses and densities to achieve optimal sound absorption across different frequency ranges. Products are supplied in thicknesses from 3-60 mm, but customer-specific details can be provided in thicknesses up to 100 mm.

The absorbers meet fire requirements according to customer specifications and are available with or without adhesive.

A complete family

antiphon® LA™

A family of air sound-absorbing foam materials available in various thicknesses and designs to optimise acoustics in different applications. The products meet fire safety requirements according to customer specifications and can be supplied with or without self-adhesive backing.

Usage: Vehicles, construction machinery, machine tools, compressors, computers, and fans.
Properties: Absorbs airborne noise, seals between components, and prevents squeaking.

Product variants:
antiphon® LA S: for high and mid frequencies, adjustable in thickness and density for optimal performance.
antiphon® LA SIII: highest absorption quality, meets fire requirement UL 94 HF1.
antiphon® LA Foil™: self-adhesive polyurethane foam with protective film, available in several thicknesses.
antiphon® LDA™: combination of LA absorber and LD damping mat that reduces both airborne and structure-borne sound.
antiphon® LTS: heavy layer for airborne sound insulation with structure-borne sound damping effect, formable and chemical-resistant.

antiphon® LA LV™

Low-weight material made from dimensionally stable nonwoven fabric with an open fibre structure, offering excellent sound absorption relative to its weight. The open structure allows sound waves to penetrate the fibre mass, where sound energy is converted into heat through friction and air resistance between the fibres. Developed for applications where low density, flexibility and cost efficiency are prioritised. The material can also be used to seal between different surfaces.

Usage: Vehicles, trains, engine compartments, ventilation ducts and building modules.

Properties: Very low weight, high sound absorption, easy to handle and strong environmental profile.
