Antiphon’s structure-borne sound damping mats are developed to effectively reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise in plastic, metal, and mechanical constructions. The mats are made of self-adhesive, sound-damping material that can easily be applied directly to surfaces where vibrations occur.
antiphon® LD™
Construction and function
antiphon® LD™ is a family of pads with a self-adhesive backing for easy installation. Some variants also have a surface layer of aluminium foil for protection, increased heat resistance, or improved hygienic properties.
The pads are available in a range of different thicknesses and can be cut or stamped into shapes and sizes best suited for the final application. The products are equipped with a specially developed self-adhesive glue that provides excellent contact with the surface to be damped.
When the surface to which the pad is applied vibrates, the material converts the kinetic energy into heat energy through internal friction. In this way, the amplitude of the vibrations is reduced, which in turn decreases structure-borne noise and resonances in the material.

antiphon® LD AL™
Variant of LD with an aluminium foil surface for increased heat resistance and mechanical protection. Suitable for applications with high temperatures or where a reflective surface is required.
Areas of use: Engine compartments, energy facilities, boiler rooms, and industrial environments.
antiphon® LDK™
Premium version of antiphon® LD™ that provides effective vibration damping with minimal material usage. This self-adhesive lightweight pad consists of a thin aluminium foil coated with an acoustic layer and cork material. It features a high and broad acoustic curve with a maximum loss factor at 25°C.
Areas of use: Light and heavy vehicles, public transport vehicles, and lighter panel constructions.
